Currently we are looking for a Traveling Ortho Auditor to join our team.


  • Review Ortho accounts submitted for audit
  • Verify patient Ortho insurance benefits and eligibility (if applicable)
  • Review all insurance claims and treatment authorization requests for accuracy
  • Submit claims inquiry forms to the carrier to request changes to information, re-evaluation of a submitted claim or treatment authorization, and/or a final payout for services rendered, as required
  • Maintain accurate reporting, audit findings, and supporting documents and records
  • Work with Ortho team members or other Billing Department staff on Ortho billing matters
  • Provide the office with information needed to address patient concerns regarding insurance and contract balances
  • Process the aging report of accounts that are over 60 days old to identify patients with severe delinquencies
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and team huddles
  • Comply with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all billing related matters
  • Comply with all Safety, Emergency, Hazard, OSHA, HIPAA, Sterilization, Clinical, Quality Assurance and Administrative Plans, Policies, Guidelines, Protocol, and Standards
  • Other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager and CFO


  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Ortho Billing experience (insurance, Denti-Cal, HMO) required
  • Data entry experience with a minimum of 30 WPM typing speed required
  • Bilingual: English & Spanish required
  • Means to travel from one office to another, required as necessary
  • Electronic billing experience preferred

  • Ability to organize insurance, HMO, Denti-Cal information, claims, encounters, tracers, etc.
  • Ability to handle conflict and get along with people
  • Ability to maintain outgoing, friendly attitude with patients and staff, even under pressure
  • Ability to work with interruptions and to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Proficiency in alphabetizing, spelling, and business math
  • Ability to write legibly and work with numbers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to satisfactorily perform essential functions of the position
